Bear Creek Dock Sticker

It feels like an eternity ago that Jeremy Martin reached out to us to design his logo. Something fun, reminiscent of summer camp, and – most importantly – an element of accessibility.

A diamond patch with a beige sky, burnt orange sun, three evergreen trees, a blue river, and two beached canoes. Across the middle is a beige banner reading “Bear Creek Collaborative,” and two people are above the text. One is using a hiking stick and the other is in a wheelchair.

In March, Bethany Green reached out to me on behalf of Bear Creek Collaborative with exciting news.

Bear Creek was getting an accessible dock.

A HUGE win for those who previously have not had the ability to get in a kayak or canoe, the dock would be revealed to the public April 19. To commemorate the unveiling and achievement, Bear Creek was interested in creating collectible stickers.

Just a month from the big reveal, Kali offered visual direction and color guidance to illustrator Zaha Joudah, who developed the initial design. After additional feedback, the sticker was finalized in just two rounds, with plenty of time to order by their in-hand deadline.

An illustrative depiction of the real-life dock installed at Bear Creek, including an accessibility sign.

This was such a fun project to work on not only because it was so illustration-focused, but because we can just picture the excitement on peoples faces when they see the dock itself and are able to try it out.

We hope this leads to more amazing accessibility design at Bear Creek, and of course, we’ll be on standby to continue the sticker set!
