Thinking of you (and designing cards)
It's easy to get caught up in life, forgetting to pause and appreciate the people who matter most to us. Especially this last month, my life has felt topsy-turvy. Thinking of You Week is the perfect opportunity to bounce back.
I'm super excited to be participating in Thinking of You Week, a special occasion dedicated to rekindling the magic of handwritten communication and the power of genuine connections.
As a graphic designer with a passion for holiday design and card creation, this week-long celebration feels like the perfect opportunity for me to blend my creative skills with community-building. There are several reasons I’m participating, and I hope they inspire you to do the same!
Homemade cards are timeless
Text messages, emails, and DMs are daily vernacular. But I’m sure we all remember the feeling of getting a card in the mail. It’s exciting, even if it’s not from your grandparents with a $10 bill inside.
Modern communication is convenient, but often lacks the warmth and personal touch of handwritten cards. Thinking of You Week reminds us that there's something truly special about receiving a card in the mail — a tangible symbol of someone's love, care, and thoughtfulness.
As a graphic designer, I especially relish (sorry not sorry for the food pun) the opportunity to use my skills to create unique, personalized cards. Each card becomes a canvas for me to infuse creativity and love, resulting in a heartfelt message that can brighten someone's day and serve as a keepsake for years to come.
Celebrating the art of card design
For me, Thinking of You Week is not just about sending any card; it's about sending a beautifully designed, custom-made card that resonates with the recipient. This week allows me to showcase my passion for graphic design and card creation. I can experiment with various design elements, from typography and color schemes to illustrations and photography, to craft cards that are not only aesthetically pleasing but also emotionally impactful.
If you're a fellow graphic designer or someone who appreciates the art of card design, this week is the perfect opportunity to unleash your creativity. Whether you choose to design cards for friends and family or for sale, it's a chance to explore your artistic side and share your creations with others.
Strengthening connections, one card at a time
The heart of Thinking of You Week lies in its mission to strengthen connections. It encourages us to reach out to those we care about, letting them know they are in our thoughts. In a world filled with distractions and busy schedules, this simple act of sending a card can have a profound impact on our relationships.
Through my participation in Thinking of You Week, I hope to rekindle old friendships, strengthen family bonds, and show appreciation to the people who make my life richer. I believe that the act of sending a thoughtful card can create a ripple effect of positivity and love, fostering deeper connections with the people who matter most.
It’s Your Turn!
Now that I've shared my enthusiasm for Thinking of You Week, I want to extend a heartfelt invitation to you: Join me in celebrating this wonderful week by designing your own cards or purchasing pre-designed ones. Here's how you can get involved:
Learn about Thinking of You Week. It’s such a fantastic initiative, and you can learn more as well as browse their assets to share with others that you’re participating.
Look Into Custom Cards. With the holidays right around the corner, now is the perfect time to have a unique set of cards to share with others. Even if you just want a simple set of your own stationery, we can help with that! Send us an email to learn more about custom sets, or sign up for our email list to be the first to hear about card designs (and receive discounts).
Purchase Pre-designed Cards. Not everyone has the time or inclination to design their own cards, and that's perfectly fine. By purchasing pre-designed cards, you can still participate in Thinking of You Week and spread joy to your loved ones while supporting local businesses and artists.
